The first week of July has not failed to impress with record enquires from tenants looking to rent quality properties. We are seeing an increase in enquiries at all price levels and in particular properties priced between £550 to £900 have secured the most viewings over the past week.

Properties located in County Durham have taken slightly longer to catch up with the demand we have experienced in Newcastle city and the surrounding areas, however demand throughout County Durham is now inline with our North of Tyne office in Newcastle.

Tenant type still remains mixed with a high percentage of tenants being classic first time buyers who are now renting. We are also seeing more properties let to families who have managed to sell their properties and are taking time to decide on their next move before committing to a new purchase, this coupled with tenanted properties remaining full as tenants extend their lease all adds up to demand outstripping supply.

We predict the demand over the next few months will remain extremely strong.
